Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn has vowed to take legal action targeting Chris Eubank Jr, after the fighter alleged his opponent’s team of engaging in underhand tactics and deliberate disruption before their upcoming rematch.

Fighter’s Accusations

Eubank Jr, who won their first encounter by clear judges’ verdict, claimed that an ambulance taking him to hospital post-fight was intentionally blocked for 20 minutes.

“They did everything to try and undermine me in that last fight,” Eubank Jr declared. “Violations of agreement, fines, strict weight rules, disrupted pre-fight checks, biased commentary and refereeing. The list goes on.”

He further added that his support staff were blocked from accessing the venue and that stadium guards attempted to slow down his entry intentionally.

Hearn’s Response

The promoter dismissed the allegations as “waffle” and warned court action unless the boxer retracts his statements.

“He is unaware that there is official records from the event, it’s available documented clearly,” Hearn stated.

He added, “He will be making an apology, otherwise we will pursue legal action. I take this personally. Our reputation is impeccable.”

Family Legacy

This conflict involving both fighters stems from a long-standing generational dispute that began in the late 1980s during which their parents, Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn, faced off in two memorable matches.

Tribute to Ricky Hatton

At the media event, Conor Benn honored to recently deceased boxer Hatton, who was discovered deceased at his home aged 46.

“He was somebody that greatly supported me professionally but also a person that took me in as a father figure,” the boxer shared. “He made me feel comforted during times without stability. He meant a lot to me.”

Preview of the Second Fight

The rematch, billed as “Unresolved Matters,” is set to occur come 15 November at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Eubank Jr will have coach Brian McIntyre supporting him, while Benn promised to come back in better version than before.

McIntyre commented, “I believe it’s going to be somewhat less challenging this time. Eubank has got his number.”

The younger fighter responded using a defiant comment: “I’m flattered that you brought an additional coach in, since you know that he’ll need it.”
