Exactly 135 days after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, his replacement Danny Rohl met with the media at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The scale of the task facing him is widely recognized, given his predecessor's turbulent and disappointing four-month tenure.

The ex- Wednesday manager was joined by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned pair of sporting director Thelwell and chief executive Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the 36-year-old coach's first public appearance as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

A single message emerged clearly from Rohl's initial presentation in front of the local press - he recognizes the need to secure victories, and achieve this quickly.

The previous manager Martin lasted only 17 games and four months as manager, so the question arose about what timeframe Rohl thinks is reasonable to transform the underperforming team.

While skillfully avoiding a direct answer that might create later expectations, the coach's message was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he said. "That is essential.
"In football you have limited opportunity. One can talk about long-term vision but we know it's about immediate results and the short-term involves securing victories. That is my requirement.
"One thing remains obvious - I require all players to comprehend how we want to play. I come back to my main message: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. By following this order, I believe that I will remain very long at the club."

Expectations are Normal

The previous manager needed a police escort to leave the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've seen how hostile situations can turn at football clubs when performances are poor. Demonstrations have nearly become an expected part of the matchday experience on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the inquiry was posed about which attributes the coach thinks he has that would enable him to cope, never mind thrive, in one of the most pressurized positions in British football?

"In my opinion pressure in football are standard," he stated. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I think certain individuals could reference my youth but I'm 16 years in this career. I had a great opportunity to be at the German club and be just the assistant manager, but I experienced the reality to manage a team and the demands you face.
"When you start winning games and then certain people will say you need to play attractive soccer. That's the next stage but that's exactly what I want. I enjoy that challenge and I look forward for the future."

Thelwell Defends Striker Acquisition & Appointing Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of inquiries from the media for Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the hiring of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with supporters skeptical about his credentials for the role.

However, he justified and clarified the choice to bring his son to Ibrox.

"It remains uncomfortable to hear and in appearance I believe we all agreed when we made this decision to appoint Robbie that he'd be seen in a particular way," Thelwell said.
"The reality of the situation is that we aim to bring the top talent to this club.
"My view on Robbie's career and background is he required no family help in soccer.
"He served at Aston Villa as a senior scout, after which he moved to Norwich as scouting chief and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our recruited him, multiple top division teams wanted to acquire him. What we did right at the start of the process was discuss with Patrick, Andrew and deputy chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained highly transparent and I believe he likely underwent a more rigorous process than anybody else employee by the team.
"What I do know is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for this football club and I anticipate seeing him proving that he'll become a valuable staff member for Rangers."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the signing of forward Chermiti, who arrived at Rangers for a reported first payment of £8m, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for his previous club.

The sporting director who brought the Portuguese young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for significant money in a £15m deal.

He was asked if he supports his expensive purchase, who hasn't yet score in seven outings for the club.

"Absolutely, completely," Thelwell answered. "I think Youssef Chermiti is a player who's possesses huge potential.
"I've never questioned him whatsoever. Again, I think the manager will assist in maximize the potential out of the player.
"These are initial stages for the young player, he's a young talent and naturally with inexperienced players they occasionally take time.
"But I'm certain over the course of his time here he's going to prove that he is very, very good footballer."

The CEO Acknowledges Fan Disappointment and Hurt

Stewart was also facing scrutiny, considering the criticism that has been directed his way by certain of the club's fans.

There was even a banner in the stadium during the last tie with Dundee United inviting him - and the sporting director - to depart before being removed for them.

Similar to the football director, Stewart didn't evade the issue.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and anger that the supporters are experiencing because performances this season haven't been expectations and nobody's happy with those," he said.
"The pain and frustration they feel is mirrored inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and in my role, that's me.
"I serve as focal point for those and my role as a
