19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.

However the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an better service.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent defended 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
