The Prosecution have reduced a number of grave sexual assault accusations against longtime media personality and one-time Australian rugby coach the accused after a legal proceeding on Thursday.

The broadcaster is charged with twenty-seven allegations which allege that he groped multiple males during a twenty-year span.

A dozen counts of aggravated indecent assault - regarded as graver as they purportedly involved individuals in subordinate positions - were downgraded Thursday. A number of allegations were also dropped altogether.

The well-known 84-year-old media figure has rejected every allegation and the case - which will be adjudicated by a judicial officer, not a jury - will be heard again next month.

Deputy Chief Magistrate the magistrate remarked that there was a revision of the case subsequent to two alleged victims withdrew, even though there was no clarification regarding why they were no longer part of the proceedings.

The accused now faces twenty five allegations of improper touching and a pair of charges of sexual touching.

His legal representative Bryan Wrench told the court the withdrawn counts were a "significant development" and "notable让步," as reported by media coverage.

"No evidence exists that... he wielded these individuals under his control. He possessed no power over these individuals," the lawyer remarked.

Law enforcement have previously said several of the complainants knew the broadcaster directly, and that one individual had been employed by him.
