The Jimmy Kimmel Show Halted Indefinitely Following Comedian's Charlie Kirk Comments
The television network revealed that the program will be suspended indefinitely after comments made by the host regarding the shooting of the political commentator.

The Disney-owned broadcaster made the announcement on midweek, indicating that the show would be substituted indefinitely. An ABC spokesperson clarified that substituting means another program will broadcast in the time slot.
The decision followed Nexstar Media announced it would also preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! on all its owned and affiliated stations. Nexstar pointed to concerns over Kimmel’s remarks about the shooting of the political figure.
What Led to the Suspension
Amid a recent episode, Kimmel remarked that some groups were seeking to leverage the death of Charlie Kirk, who was killed recently during an event.
Tyler Robinson faces charges with aggravated murder and may be subject to the death penalty.
The presenter also took aim at the vice president for reportedly pointing fingers at the left for the shooting without evidence.
Vance had asserted that the majority of radicals in the US come from the left-wing, a statement Kimmel dismissed by citing a study on extremist violence in the United States.

Prior to Nexstar’s decision, the communications commission head had urged local broadcasters to cease broadcasting the show, indicating that they could face fines or disciplinary action if they transmitted content that engaged in misinformation.
Brendan Carr later commended the media group for taking action and stated that local stations have an obligation to act in the community's benefit.
A company executive called the statements as inappropriate and hurtful during a volatile national discourse.
Kimmel did not responded on the suspension.
